Vectorply Honored at East Alabama Chamber Awards Dinner

Columbus, GA – April 8, 2025- Vectorply was proudly represented at the annual Chamber Awards Dinner hosted by the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce on April 8th at the historic Bibb City Mill in Columbus, Georgia. The event celebrated the achievements of chamber members, acknowledged strong leadership, and showcased remarkable contributions within the organization and community.

Three individuals from Vectorply were recognized for their outstanding impact:

  • Scott Phillips, Marketing and Business Development Manager, was named Young Leader of the Year. In addition to excelling in business development and community outreach, Scott serves as the chamber’s Vice chairman of the Board of Directors, advocates on its behalf, and fosters stronger relationships between the chamber and the community. Within Vectorply, Scott leads his team towards growth, mentors young employees, and actively contributes to his local church as a hospitality team member.
  • Brian Hickman, Production Scheduler, was nominated for the Spirit of the Chamber award. As a 2024 graduate of the Chamber Leadership Program and current Chamber Ambassador, Brian has demonstrated his dedication through impactful projects like planting community garden beds and assisting Project Greenelight. Known for his hands-on involvement in both Vectorply and chamber events, Brian embodies the spirit of giving back.

In addition to these employees, Vectorply CEO and President Trevor Humphrey’s youngest daughter, Jenna Grace Humphrey, was honored with the Young Citizens Award for Community Service. Through her leadership, Jenna Grace successfully raised funds to provide 100 duffle bags for foster children, ensuring they had proper luggage during transitions. Her efforts highlight a strong commitment to helping children in the local community feel valued and supported.

Vectorply Recognized as a 2025 IBBI Supplier of the Year

The IBBI conference featured a variety of activities, beginning with a cornhole tournament sponsored by Vectorply in partnership with 3A Composites. This friendly competition paired suppliers and buyers as teams, competing for the coveted champion title, a trophy, and a cash prize. The event continued with a tradeshow where suppliers and buyers engaged in networking and knowledge sharing. Each participating company had the opportunity to showcase their contributions to the marine industry, providing valuable insights into their products and services. The event concluded with an evening reception and awards ceremony, where Vectorply was officially recognized as a top Supplier of the Year. Thomas brings over 10 years of experience in composites engineering, including his tenure at Vectorply.

With 13 years of experience at Vectorply as a Customer Service Specialist and Development Support Specialist, Whitney brings valuable insight and dedication to her new position.

Scott Phillips Accepted into the ACMA Emerging Leader Program

Vectorply’s Marketing and Business Development Manager, Scott Phillips, was recently chosen to participate in the American Composites Manufacturers Association’s Emerging Leader Program. Scott was selected as one of the twenty-two class participants, who will gain invaluable leadership and composites knowledge through various workshops, training sessions, and events. The purpose of this program is to enhance the leadership skills of those within the industry and introduce them to government policies related to the advocacy of composite materials.

Throughout the course, Scott will further his industry knowledge, network, and build relationships with others in the composites industry, and present his findings at an informational session at CAMX, the largest composite and advanced materials event in North America. The main feature of the class will be when Scott and his cohort visit with lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to learn more about the policies regarding government materials and advocate for the benefits of composite materials in various public applications.
