Vectorply is a privately-owned company with headquarters in Phenix City, AL. The company employs approximately 200 employees between administration, sales, engineering and production and produces more than 300 different styles of reinforcement fabrics for a wide variety of composites applications. Vectorply supplies the vast composites industry with materials from our 200,000 sq. ft production facility in Alabama, along with international manufacturing partners.
Job Purpose
To develop and administer policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources activity within the manufacturing plant
Experience /Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and five plus years related experience in a manufacturing facility
- Working knowledge of employment laws, regulations and worker’s comp
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. This includes having the ability to engage management when appropriate
- Experience in all HR concentration areas such as benefits; compensation; workforce planning and employment; employee relations; occupational health, safety and security; strategic management; employee development; and training
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements
- Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs
- Represent HR in the Leadership Team and coordinate with other departments (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Finance)
- Manages talent acquisitions process, including sourcing, testing, hiring and onboarding
- Coordinates recruiting and retention strategies and succession planning process
- Coordinates exit interview process and communication of findings to management
- Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues
- Coordinates training programs, personal and career development, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity, and benefit programs
- Coordinates employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs
- Reviews employee relation’s issues and recommends appropriate responses to management
- Prepares and monitors human resources budget
- Negotiates contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops human resources staff; manages schedules and workflow
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations
- Works directly with EH & S/Safety Manager to ensure OSHA requirements are met.
